This is good advice for a lot of the people on this platform. Substack, Wikipedia, audiobooks, podcasts, etc. make it possible to constantly consume information during most of our waking hours. This satisfies the craving we have for novel information, but it has done to our minds what mass-produced carbohydrates have done to our bodies. It’s easy to overindulge.

I don't think you can really be original in your philosophical thinking without reading the necessary material. You can't have original thoughts in todays world, only by going through the history of western philosophy could you liberate yourself from the thoughts of the commoners.

Ultimately pray. We cannot allow ourselves to be overwhelmed. After you've read enough, after you've pondered it and realized the enormity, take it to prayer! This is not idleness. 🙏🏻What do you think?
